Back in Leeds after a having a quality time down at generation press, here are some of the gifts which i have been giving to bring back with me. these images show some of the colour plan barr(y)ie promotion and colour samples, they also show the plates, which were used to print my cads. the giant tube is full of well nice prints and two boxes full of work which i have been looking at and blogging as reference through out my degree. print is not dead!
Box two was filled with a range of different pieces of work which GP have printed, Paul allowed me to look through there shelf's of past work and to take what i wanted, this was really hard as every single piece of work i looked at, had its own unique feel and specialist approach. the attention to detail and craft is outstanding in every job GP produce, this box of work proves that they push the boundaries in every job and each job is unique and individual.
Here are some Jasper Goodall prints, they are screen printed. the Bambi head print is definitely a favourite, it's so amazing to actually have prints form the designers which i have been using as inspiration for the past three years. these are really high quality screen prints.
Here is some work GP have produced for proud creative the use of a simplistic approach by proud is really capitalised and brought to life by the quality of print by generation Press.
here is a stitch book based on design work by Proud and two posters printed on transparent papers from GF smith, this is for the Long Lunch talks. the use of white on the stock creates impact and adds a form of detail to the simplistic approach.
Here are my own set of Not for commerical use prints, these are from a collaboration between Build and Generation Press. they include some really nice prints especially the DENDROCRONOLOGY print, a view point of it shown below,it is a personal favourite.
Here is a book which was made about the not for commercial use project, it has a perforated cover, which has a use scratch inks and a screen gloss ink. the book has been stitched with green Fred for the binding. a compilation of stocks on the inside, an extremely nice piece of design. I was lucky to get this as there is a very limited amount of copies left.
This was the biggest surprise when i got home to find this set of prints in the giant tube which Kate prepared for me. This is a really nice set of posters produced by Generation Press for their 10th Anniversary. each of the set has its own unique feel and subtle features. it also includes my very first Print from Sanna Annukka this is a really nice screen print, which uses magenta foil and three spot colours, one of which is a florescent pink. the print work for all this set really brings out the design style of each of the prints.
